The Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach certainly does not disapoint this year - thanks to the stunning performances and vibrant creations springing from all directions of the stage.  The seamless way that human figures and set pieces intertwine, is truly something to behold.  The theme of this year's pageant: "Under the Sun", which discusses the new generation of impressionists that came to this beautiful community and expressed their inspiration through painting.

Take a seat, and enjoy a historical journey covering the artistic legacy of Laguna Beach's notable painters.  Audience members are treated to a large slidemovie display, accompanied by well-written narration.    A special surprise awaits viewers ... as live action performances converge into the seating area.

Not to be outdone, the Festival of the Arts is the perfect partner for the Pageant of the Masters, for those in search of a cultural feast.  Throughout the festival grounds, a very high level of originality and creativity is on display.  Particular standouts, include Randy Bader and Brian Gibberson - all of whom display a remarkable degree of uniqueness, skill and dedication in their works.  Randy Bader's wood designs possess a hypnotic flow, combined with a brilliant sense of movement and space - seemingly shrugging off the ordinary constraints of clocks and other common objects.  Brian Gibberson's highly imaginitive 'Totems' display a gorgeous evolution of color and dazzling combinations of wood design, copper strips, and other found materials ... that invite the viewer to explore.

Per Geoff Huston                                                                          July 31st, 2018

The Art A Fair Festival is a wondrous exploration of two and three dimensional art in the stunning canyons of Laguna Beach.  And if the works of over 120 award winning artists won't keep you entertained, then the great variety of free food samples and wine tasting certainly will.  Or perhaps the live music acts that performs in the spacious lounge area (below).

Art A Fair is ideally suited to the surroundings, and there is plenty of eclectic dining within walking distance, once you finish enjoying the visual feast that awaits.

The Art A Fair is running from now until August 28th, 2018.          Be sure to catch this great event.

Wandering through the corridors, visitors can expect to find truly unique creations around every corner.  Some striking examples came from artist Nicky Alice, who crafts brilliant designs onto a medium that encourages us to look back at ourselves (mirrors) - while his shapes dazzle the viewer with pigments that only he can create.  Darlene Saucedo stands out as another noteworthy talent, crafting intricate designs into her wooden mediums with strong influences coming from traditional African art.
